Who we are
The Platform for Dialogue and Action on Health Technologies in Africa (Health Tech Platform) is a collaborative project by the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA- NEPAD). This transformative platform is dedicated to revolutionise health outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa by fostering informed, objective, transparent, open, and balanced discussions on the development and application of innovative tools and technologies in health services.
Africa faces multiple health challenges that require innovative solutions. The Health Tech Platform showcases some of the emerging technologies that can be applied to healthcare provision, and provides a structured and dynamic environment where stakeholders can engage in meaningful discussions on this potential. The Platform brings together a diverse array of voices—including policymakers, researchers, healthcare professionals, industry leaders, and community representatives—to bridge the gap between scientific advancements and practical implementation. It is designed to ensure that every discussion is grounded in evidence, driven by the latest research, and oriented towards practical, actionable outcomes.
Welcome and explore with us the complexities of health technology development and deployment. Together, we can harness the power of innovation to create lasting improvements in health systems and enhance the quality of care, and ensure equitable health outcomes for everyone on the African continent.
