We promote informed, open and balanced discussions on emerging technologies that have been prioritised by the African Union as having potential to change the trajectory of disease and ill-health in Africa if well developed and tested. Some examples of emerging health technologies include: genetically modified mosquitoes for disease control, monoclonal antibodies, mRNA/DNA vaccines, RNAi therapeutics, artificial intelligence, and use of drones in health interventions, among others.

Our Objectives

The Platform for Dialogue and Action on Emerging Health Technologies in Africa (Health Tech Platform) facilitates meaningful engagement of Africans in driving conversations and actions on the need for and effectiveness of emerging transformative tools and technologies for addressing the continent’s health challenges.
